Editorial note: Three Things Thursday for the Road Adventures category is just what it sounds like. When I travel to a new place for G3, I’m going to jot down three musings and share. Simple as that.
- Hello Haley! Meet Haley Italia. She is a professional golfer and her passion for sharing God’s word and love is strong. I am honored to have her as one of the featured athletes in G3. This young talent has the most beautiful golf swing I have ever seen (and I spent a couple of seasons covering the LPGA championship in Havre de Grace, Maryland). I was blessed to spend the day with Haley and we shared a lot of laughs and insights. Her determination is truly inspiring.
- Shout out to the man! I was super grateful to have a face-to-face conversation with my agent, DJ Snell. He is smart, well-rounded and does mission trips regularly (which is on my bucket list). Did I mention he is also a Christian counselor? I just love that. But before I sat down with him I said to myself: I’m not going to let him counsel me; I’m not going to do my usual over-share; I’m going to show him how put together I am and blah, blah. HA! Within a matter of minutes, I felt like I was sitting in the chair- the counselor’s chair. And it was pretty awesome. I feel so fortunate to have him rep me because he is as knowledgeable as he is pure and he is admired in this business.
- Cozying up with Coll! My sister, Colleen, lives in St. Petersburg and was able to take a couple days off and come visit me! We had a great time and a lot of giggles, like we always do. Since we don’t get to see each other as much as I’d like, this was a real treat. One of the many benefits of this gig for me is that if I plan it, I am able to sneak in an extra day or two during travel.
Speaking of benefits of this gig, this trip felt sort of surreal to me. So many great things are coming together for G3. I feel privileged to be doing this work.
I am learning and growing so much and you can witness this here in the latest installment of G3’s You Tube channel. I’m getting better in the video department… slowly but surely. I know I still have a ways to go. But isn’t that the beauty of it?
G3’s next batch of athletes are competing in the Olympics so I won’t be doing much traveling till after the games. Stay tuned…
