CEO. Agent. President. General Manager. Broadcaster. These are just a handful of the titles women carry around in the sports world.
In this glorious article in Adweek by TL Stanley (follow her on Twitter here), we are getting the details on women in the sports industry who are making the games better. Some faces we have seen, like the formidable Erin Andrews who has become a brand unto herself; others we have not.
No difference. This impressive list gives us a sense of how and where women fit in on and off the field.
Some of my personal favorites are:
- Katrina Adams: not only was she a pro player, but she is also the CEO, president and chairman of the United States Tennis Association. Her mission: diversifying the sport and making it more accessible!
- Jill Smoller: partner, agent at powerhouse WME who represents a roster of beasts including the G.O.A.T Serena Williams and also the most highly decorated US Track and Field athlete, Allyson Felix.
- Bilai Joa Silar: this rockstar has been in production and programming for more than two decades. She helped bring the Mexican Soccer League’s Liga Final to Universo, the fastest growing Spanish language cable entertainment network, making it the top-rated sporting event in the channel’s history.
This is just a small sampling of how women are making plays in the games we love to consume. Check out all these powerful players here! You won’t be disappointed.
