I have been working on a new side gig that I’ve been dying to share with you.
It started a few years ago when my Tuesday yoga instructor would give us each a dab two of essential oils on our wrists before savasana (meditation).
I fell in love.
Not always with the way the oils smelled (because they can be different) but with the way I felt. Peace. Calm. Grounded. Yes it was wonderful. Immediately impactful.
So I hounded the instructor, told her I would buy some from her, but she had to do “something with my page” and never ended up doing it. Clearly, she didn’t want to sell them. And that’s ok because she did share them. I always looked forward to her class.
Then come to find out the instructor was no longer at the studio. There goes my oil connection. So I had to find other ways to feed my addiction. I bought from stores and, ever the penny-pincher, finally broke down and bought a diffuser and a set of oils through, of all places, Groupon. Hey! At that time, I was happy to make the purchase.
Trouble is, these other oils didn’t give me the immediate affects I had felt before. But okay, whatever. I still enjoyed the diffuser. I just didn’t use these oils on my skin.
Then one day while scrolling Facebook, one of my sweet friends and colleague, Kim, posted something about essential oils and being a believer. I instantly responded to her post and hit send.
A day or two later, we were on the phone and I was getting me some oils. These were the real deal. Pure. 100% authentic. Therapeutic. Yippee!
I’m going to sign you up for the rewards program that way you can earn free oils and can sell them if you want. Free oils, I’m in. Classes- and selling nah! I don’t do that.
For all these years, I have never once did a house party that involved selling anything. I didn’t want my friends or family to feel put upon. In fact, me and a few of my besties made agreements never to do that. We refused.
Anyhoo, I got the oils in a kit with a diffuser and started using them in late November. The first couple of months, I slowly but surely got reeled in. I immediately got rid of the other oils. I read articles. I watched videos. I experimented. I fell hard.
By the end of January I knew that I had to start sharing these wonderful gifts from God. Pure drops of life force that have everything we need. Think about it: what did we do for medicine before there was a CVS or Rite Aid on every corner?
I fell even harder! Now I am a proud and happy distributor of Young Living Essential Oils. I’ve never done anything like this before. And I’m having so much fun learning about all this stuff. It’s been amazing. I’ve shown some people the oils but look forward to showing so many more!
Remember: when God guides, God provides.
